You can write one kanji in various form.

These are all gyosho style of kanji "mountain". This letter reads as"yama". The meaning is "mountain". The semi-cursive style ( gyosho) of writing has a flexibility in the form. For example, you can write the letter "山" in the lengthwise (square) and flat. You can write it as you like.
